Sore, but not defeated....

The bike ride to Clare was pretty AWESOMESAURUS! I mean the last ten miles was rough but in the end, knowing I had accomplished my last biking goal for the summer on July 11 felt liberating.

So, Saturday we rode almost 63 miles and for the year now I've ridden a total of 392 miles. I'm thinking I can realistically reach 500 by the end of August. I am so happy I spent money on a new bike at the beginning of the summer because I ride to work and pick up groceries all while saving money on gas and wear n' tear on the ole car.

I have ridden 311 miles on my new bike this year. By the end of September last year I had only ridden 300 total.

Planning a big bike ride Saturday, either riding in Traverse City or maybe from Midland to Clare. Clare is one of the goals John and I put out there by the end of summer to accomplish.

You name it, and I think I did it today. I woke up early, started laundry, including all my blankets. Cleaned the living room, did dishes, make a decent breakfast. Picked up my living room, went searching for a lounge chair but did not find one in my price range. (Beppy, if you would kindly ship that one I carried home from Wal-Mart to my house, well, that would be just peachy!) Took a nap in the sun without the use of the lawn chair. Mowed the yard and raked up the grass. Put away clothes. Watched some food network to relax.

The only thing I haven't done is take a bike ride. But I plan on doing that about 7:30 with Jer. Today has been a super productive day off. Back to the grind stone tomorrow afternoon. Spending the morning with Becky/Brooke at the beach.

Seriously, how can it already be going on to 3 when I haven't even spent any time in 2???? This lady must not ever be late for meetings or anything with a mind set of 2 going on 3 when its 1:50! I bet she has worms, many of them.

I did get up early this morning and rode my bike out to the Chippewa Nature Center. Didn't really do anything there, it was just a good destination. I listened to nature for bit and then watched the early mornin dew turn into this wicked mist. It was cool and I need to put a bag on my bike to easily carry my digital camera. Maybe BeppyCat can make me one. SA has been part of my inspiration to get back on my bike, thanks SA!

I may have seen a badger today, or possibly a really big house cat. It was hard to tell.

I took a 40 min power nap on my couch in the sun like a cat. It was amazing!

So I'm currently reinstalling Final Cut. It says its gonna take 7hrs!!! Not to sure about this because I need to change disks. Gross!

My thumb is doing ok. Like it still hurts but I can move it and basically it feels better everyday. I'm still not ready to play vball, which makes me pretty sad because tomorrow is suppose to be beautiful. I am going to get on my bike tomorrow, debating a very early ride to get the blood pumping for my first Monday off. I'm looking forward to having Mondays off. According to weather.com sunrise tomorrow is at 5:55 am, maybe I'll make breakfast for the sun.

Today was my Grandma's 80th B-Day party. It was really nice catching up with cousins and spending time with family.

This might end up being a really busy week at the Tennis Center working on a video project. More to come about that. In the end, its a big oppurtunity.

I've got a lot of things piling up on my to do plate. Gonna have to buckle down and pull an all nighter tomorrow night, or something close to it. I better start a list!

I landed on it yesterday playing volleyball and now it's twice its size. Good news is that I can bend it more than I could last night. I'm figuring not much reason to pay for the Doc bills. As Tommy would say, they are not gonna do anything for it anyway.

I'm working on my resume and cover letter. Its tough but I'm treating it as a rough draft and then hoping some work professionals will help me fix it up.

I'm going green! Today I made a list of everything I had to do and decided it could all be done without the use of my car. So I packed up my D-town Tiger bag, threw on an extra t-shirt, did some warmup jumping jacks and hopped on my new bicyle (feature in Salgat Art Studio).

After doing all my running around in the Downtown Midland area, apparently parking tickets are being raised from $7 to $30! flippin serious?!?, I took off to Tim Hortons.

Chicken Wrap, Blueberry Muffin, and Apple Juice only $3.17! Awesome! While I was sitting in Tim Hortons, an older couple sat down at the table next to me and started playing cribbage. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to find out the rules of the game. So, Bob or Roberto as he was occasionally called by Jo, kindly explained how to deal, score points and gave me strategy tips. Bob is a retired science teacher and keeps statistics of all the games he and Jo play. He has stats since 2006! They started playing cribbage during lunch to slow down some old habits he acquired during his 20 minute lunch breaks as a teacher. Jo has read The Shack, a book I was given by mother and we spoke on it briefly. Both of them ate nutty donuts. I'm one step closer to encompassing my nickname Grandpa.

At the Center for the Arts where JR works they have an exhibit right now called SNAKES AND LIZARDS: ALIVE! The sub-headline to this event reads, 'because dead Snakes and Lizards might move even less.' I think that's why they put ALIVE in their title, because you might think many of these little guys are dead otherwise. What I'm trying to say is, they didn't move much. Except for the last guy. He was pretty active. Enjoy the slideshow!

Rode from John's Grandma's to my house today with John. It was about 15 miles. Back got pretty sore and left hamstring feels a little tight. I took a potassium pill though and it should help with the stiffness. The trip was pretty kick ass, nice to ride again.

I finished the opening to the Community Centers tv show today and I did it a few days ahead of time. Busy few days coming up with WrestleMania and MLB season openers.

Go Tigers!!! This season like almost every other team is going to come down to starting pitching. More to come next week on this, right now very tired.

OHIO WEEKEND!

Had a pretty kick ass time at Kari's this weekend with John and Melly, with a side of SA. We went to Cereality in Dayton OH. I had some pretty amazing cereal. Told the girls working there we drove 300 miles for it because I'm a cereal fanatic. They laughed a little.

We did some shopping. I found two new spring jackets, much needed and both pretty snazzy.

Today we made pizza John found online somewhere, it was pretty damn good. Pictures of the days events will follow as soon as the flash thingy John needs starts workin.

Working on putting some old VHS tapes to DVD for a lady who comes through the Pro Shop. I need to do a better job at working out payment at the beginning of projects instead of that awkward conversation at the end.

So I finished a little project for someone at the tennis center. I hope she and her family like it.

Ran around getting alot of little things done, such as returning pants i wore for a weekend, new driver license, and returning an old school antenna I used for a month. Can I go to jail for this? I had my receipts ... anyway, I then got a smoothie which I LOVE! Very Beery Smoothie, so good.

Even though I got quite a bit done, there is still lots to do. Another quick tennis center project, preparing for tomorrows shoot at the community center, the dirty dishes in the sink, pooping, putting together Mom's MP3 player, pooping, and going to movie with Greg.

For the most part I really like being busy, it helps me cherish free time and sleeping in.

Slop sloppy joes....

After a week of eating out, mostly because I didn't have much time to shop or cook because of video work, it felt pretty awesome to chop up some peppers, onion, and potatoes with the ole John and make a semi-homemade meal.

So one day last October, Jer and I came up with this competition. There was no real rhyme or reason, just sounded like fun. Others have said since they could do it faster, but none have taken the challenge.

So I moved back to Midland from The Oak in mid-December. Its been pretty good so far. Nice to be closer to work. Kinda tough not having internet or cable, but I'm getting by.

I've been going to the gym consistently, with Dino and friends. Staying shape has become a really fun thing. But some of my clothes are starting get baggy, even the new ones, :-(.

I really wanna see The Spirit. Anyone out there, seen it? What are your thoughts?

The DCTC is coming, gonna be really busy but it'll be tons of fun. I put together a 30 second commercial that's going to air on Charter in the Tri-Citys. I like it a lot because I shot all the video thats used in it and chose what graphics to use.
